Everything you need to know about buying mama clothing from Mrs Smith Clothing

Customers submitting a purchase order for maternity clothes agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. The following terms and conditions supersede any previous terms and conditions and Mrs Smith Clothing reserves the right to make changes to the website, our range of maternity clothes and this document at anytime.

Acceptance of Goods

The customer is responsible for inspecting maternity clothes and breastfeeding clothes for faults or damage and must notify Mrs Smith Clothing. Faulty products which are immediately returned will be exchanged or refunded. See Returns Policy below for terms of other returns.

Safety in the Covid-19 Alert 4 period

Staying safe during this time is critical to all of us. Two of my children as T1 Diabetics are in the immune compromised category and I have my 80 year old mother living with us. So we are being extra vigilant because this virus can really put my loved ones in danger.  However we are continuing to trade because my husband is elf employed and can’t work and we have six mouths to feed.

Before packing any orders I will be washing my hands and implementing all the necessary hygiene standards including wearing rubber gloves. We will make all parcels non signature and put in the instructions please leave at front door. If you have any preferred instructions to this, please specify when you make your order. Parcels are placed at our door in an allocated container that we will sanitize every day. We ask that you also protect us by being extra careful with any returns you send back to us.

Free NZ Delivery on orders over $200.00

We offer free delivery on New Zealand orders that are over $200.00. NZ orders that are under the $200 threshold will be charged $7.00 shipping.  For orders over $200.00 if you return the whole order for a refund we will deduct $7.00 shipping fee from your refund. If you return part of the order taking your order to below the threshold we may also deduct the shipping fee. Your first exchange is free. However freight is a significant cost for us so we ask that when the customer is making an exchange for the second time of $7.00 for standard delivery. This does not include cases where the product is found to be faulty.

For Australian orders we charge a $10.00 NZD for standard post 8-10 days shipping and $25.00 NZD for courier 2-4 days delivery and $25.00 NZD for post delivery other international orders.

Returns Policy

We want you to be happy with your maternity clothes purchase and we understand the problems with making online purchases. If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason you can return it to us within the 21 days after the web purchase date for a refund of the purchase price of a full priced item (this does not include a small freight cost) if the item is returned in its original condition including the original packaging and tags still attached. Please Note: If the item has been purchased while it is on sale or using a discount code you can return it but we offer a store credit not a refund. Please note this now includes our 10% off discount code as well as all others. Under the fair trading act we are not required to give a customer a refund because they change their mind or no longer need the item. Many online businesses do not allow you to return items purchased on sale at all. We do but we give you a credit note that is valid for six month and is transferable to a friend or relative.

Returned items must be unworn with the tags still attached and in its original packaging. We will not accept liability for items being returned which are lost during the return journey to our warehouse.

Return of Sale Items

Many of our competitors will not accept the return of sale goods but we understand sometimes styles are not right. For all styles purchased when on sale or using a discount code including the 10% discount cannot be returned for a refund. We do accept their return and we will give you a store credit valid for six months.

Refunds – As stated above while we offer free shipping to our customers for orders over $200. However when those item/s are returned for refund or credit the shipping cost of $7.00 will be deducted from the refund or credit. If you return part of the order but the total value of the order is now less than $200 you will also have the $7.00 shipping deducted from your refund or credit.  For purchases made using discounts or vouchers, the total refunded will only be the amount paid not the total product price. After 21 days returns and refunds are subject to manufacturers warranty.

If the goods you receive are faulty, we will replace those goods if the problem is caused by a fault in the product not general wear and tear or failure to follow the appropriate care  requirements. As per our obligation under the consumer guarantees act. Reimbursement for shipping expenses for faulty will be up to the value of the original quoted shipping cost.


New Zealand Exchanges

We no longer offer exchanges on items purchased on sale or using any sale discount codes. All sale or discounted items returned will receive a store credit instead.

We ask the recipient to pay the shipping to get the order back to us. We will pay the shipping fee for the first exchange for New Zealand orders. Due the significant costs of freight we do ask that when the customer is making a second exchange they pay a small fee of $7.00 for standard delivery. This does not include cases where the product is found to be faulty.

Australian Returns

We no longer offer exchanges on any items that are shipped to Australia. All international orders returned will receive a store credit instead.

Due to the high freight costs we find it simpler to give give our Australian customers a store credit for any returns rather than offer exchanges. We currently subsidize our international shipping cost which actually costs $15+ to send. For this reason any Australian orders returned for a refund will have the $15.00 shipping cost deducted from the refund total.

To return an item please send us an email so that we know to expect the item. We would greatly appreciate it if you could let us know why you are returning the item as your feedback is important to us. We can use your feedback to refine our products in the future.
